about the film

Successful banker Tom Taylor lives with his wife Elizabeth and their three sons in religiously conservative Jacksonville, Florida. When two of the boys are diagnosed with severe intellectual and physical disabilities, life for the family changes dramatically. Over the years, Tom begins to confront something he has kept buried for most of his life: his homosexuality.

At fifty, he leaves his family and moves to New York, hoping to start over as an artist. Elizabeth remains in Florida with the children. As she fights for her sons’ independence and future, the strain increasingly takes a toll on her health.
